DescriptionA man dressed as Uncle Sam leads a parade watched by crowds of men, women, and children. A band led by a majorette march behind Uncle Sam. Most of the men and women wear coats and jackets and hats or scarves. Tents line the midway. A large beer bottle is on a stand at the right. A sign reads: "KING OF / BEERS - Bud[weiser]" Amusement park rides and wooded hills are in the background.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
