DescriptionA large crowd of men, women, and a few children stand between tents and buildings, one with a sign that reads "[DANBU]RY FAIR RAILROAD." Men wear hats and overcoats, women wear coats or jackets. One women is wheeling an infant in a baby stroller. A band is marching in front of a row of figures representing reindeer, candy canes, and toy soldiers. A ferris wheel, utility poles, and wooded hills are in the background.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
