DescriptionFour young men are performing on an outdoor stage. One is playing a guitar, two are playing violins or fiddles, and the third is playing a mandolin. They appear to be singing into microphones. Men and women are seated on wooden benches in the foreground listening to the music. Most wear jackets or sweaters. A pickup truck, crowds of people, balloons, and tents are in the background. Signs read: "Fly by Night String Band / Olde Time Music Plus" and "Rodgers Tropical Fantasy / Performing / Tropical Bird Circus."
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
