DescriptionAt the left, a man in the uniform of a policeman or a security guard is holding a bouquet of flowers, apparently zinnias. At the right, a woman wearing a long coat over a dress is holding a bouquet of what appear to be dahlias. A building in the background has a sign that reads: "RAILROAD EXPRESS OFFICE / AND.... DEPT. / .... Grounds in / ..... No. 6 / Rear of Race Track." A man wearing eyeglasses and a hat is visible through a window at the far right.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
