DescriptionWoman's pocket, made of randomly sized scraps of late eighteenth-century printed cottons. Most of the prints have some sort of floral motif, some are arranged in stripes. Predominate colors are brown, tan, red and blue. The slit is 9 3/8 inches long and is bound with three different printed cottons. The patchwork is lined with plain-woven linen, as is the band across the top and the waist tie remnants. The pocket is bound with two different prints, including one plaid, which is cut off-grain to give it a more decorative effect.
