The woman is wearing a sleeveless evening gown, a tiara, and long white gloves. She holds a shawl over her arm. A banner reads "DANBURY STATE FAIR QUEEN." In the background, a horse-drawn carriage has lettering that reads "THE QUEEN / OF THE GREAT / DANBURY / FAIR." The corner of an American flag is at the upper left.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides.
