DescriptionIn the interior of a building, men and women are looking at a large turkey in a cage. The men are wearing suits, neckties, and hats. The women are wearing coats and scarves. One woman has pheasant feathers in her hat. Additonal cages, presumably containing other fowl, are at the right and in the background. Straw is on the floors of the cages in the foreground.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
