DescriptionStore with frame commercial buildings line a city street. Some buildings have striped awnings. Some have arched windows. Merchandise displayed in shop windows includes etchings. Signs read: "Elevator Entrance" "The Hartford Coal Co." "Conning & Co." "W. [C.} Mason & Co." "Furnished /Rooms" " Lewis. The Tailor" "Package Store" "Established / 1900 - Rundbaken / Signs - Practical / Up-to-date" "New England Brew Co.'s / Sample Room" "City Hall / Cafe" "Bond's / The City Printing Co. / Topping / Patterns and Models / The Hartford / Polishing and Plating Co." "F.F. Chudoba - Com[mercial] / Photog[rapher]" "L.A. Wiley & Son / Art Dealers" "Hutch[ings] & Patz[old] / Surg[ical?] / Denti[sts]" An additional sign for "Scatter[ ] / Johnson / & Co. / Deming / Printing / Company" is at the end of an alley. An electric lamppost, a fire hydrant and several men are on the paved sidewalk. A bicycle is near the curb. A billboard on the roof of the central building has signs that read: "The O.J. Gude Co. N.Y." "The Worlds's Best Soda Cracker / Uneeda Biscuit National Biscuit Company."
NotesSubject Notes: W.S. Conning, Edison Lewis, W.C. Goeben & T.W. Carter were the partners in Conning & Co., dealers in stocks, bonds & local securities at 752 Main Street.
W.C. Mason & Co. were dealers in coal and wood at 746 Main Street.
Maurice Rundbaken was a sign painter at 740 Main Street.
Isaac Lewis was a tailor at 742 Main Street.
Frank F. Chudoba was a photographer at 730 Main Street.
David A. Hutchings and Hugo L. Patzold were the partners in Hutching & Patzold, dentists.
The City Hall Cafe at 738 Main Street, and in 1915 was managed by John A. Dower.
The handwritten notes on the back are probably by Samuel Taylor.
