The Connecticut River is in the right background. Buildings at the left have signs that read: "Coal / Office" "M.W.Chapin" "Levi Sti[les]" Men stand near horse-drawn wagons in a rutted dirt street. A utility pole and street light are nearby.
NotesSubject Notes: Normand Lyman had a salt store at 260 State Street. M.W.Chapin sold coal at 124 Commerce Street, and was listed in a later directory both at this address, and in an advertisement at 256 State Street. Levi Stiles was a saddler with several different addresses on State Street.Status
