DescriptionAutomobiles drive around a traffic circle outlined by round traffic signs. Additional automobiles are parked beside a brick commercial building in the background. The building has a curved facade, awnings, and signs that read "PARK HILL FLOWER SHOP" "PRESCRIPTION / PHARMACY / DRUGS - CIGARS." Utility poles line the streets. Crosswalks and the outline of the traffic circle are painted on the pavement. Trees, including what appear to be elm trees, are in the background.
NotesSubject Note: The photograph shows the intersection of Center Street (Rts. 6 and 44) and Main Street (Rt. 83) in Manchester. Center Street runs left to right and the photograph was taken from the middle of Main Street, which runs from the foreground into the background. The trees in the right background are in Center Park. The photograph was taken by Howard Tedford in the 1930s and probably printed by Sylvian Ofiara in the 1980s or 1990s. (Finlay 1/26/2011)
