DescriptionPortraits include members of the Cheney, Cowles, Blackburn, Bayne and Knapp familes and friends of these families. Album also includes portraits of family pets (dogs and horses), the Bennett School in Millbrook, NY (which Elizabeth Cheney Bayne attended), family holiday gatherings, and weddings, family members in automobiles, and family gardens. Locations include the Cheney houses and Cheney Hall in Manchester, and vacation trips to Marlborough, Connecticut, York Harbor, Maine, and Santa Barbara, California. Some photographs depict Russell Cheney's studio and his oil paintings, Notable portraits include Stan Bayne-Jones (a doctor in World War I), nurses of Presbyterean Hospital class of 1923 in addition to many pictures of Elizabeth Cheney Bayne.
NotesThe majority of the Cheney residences are in Manchester Connecticut.
The Cheney Family had a summer home in Marlborough, Connecticut, as well as York Harbor, Maine. They frequently sailed in Marlborough pond as well as York Harbor.
Elizabeth Cheney Bayne attended The Bennett School, in Milbrook, NY from 1913 to 1917. She then attended South Manchester High School following The Bennett School. After attending high school she graduated from nursing school in 1923.
Elizabeth Cheney Bayne and her family later visited France in 1926.
The Cowles family owned a home in Santa Barbara, California, which was visited frequently by the Bayne family.
Elizabeth Cheney Bayne's cousin, Stan Bayne-Jones was a doctor in World War I.
