DescriptionStone commercial building with four columns, pedimented roof, a door with half round pediment. A frieze reads: "HARTFORD BANK". A sign by the door reads: "HARTFORD / National / BANK". The five story commercial building at right is the Hartford Courant Building. Several signs, "OTIS / ELEVATOR / COMPANY." ; "Job Printing / The / CATHOLIC / Transcript. / ROOMS. / 1-2-3-4". Some windows with awnings. At left, seven story brick commercial building. Iron gate at alleyway, iron bars on first floor windows. Utility poles and wires, tracks in streets, fire hydrant on sidewalk.
NotesDate Note: The date of the image determined from business locations and dates taken from the Hartford City Directory. The Hartford National Bank built a new building on Main Street opposite the corner of State Street that opened in 1912. This building was torn down and replaced with the Princess Theatre. The exact year the change took place is uncertain.
