Description[Crewelwork petticoat with flowers, vines]
Label TextAccording to family history, this was made on an ancestor's family farm in Connecticut using linen made from flax grown on the farm, and wool from the family sheep dyed with vegetable dyes. The exact branch of the family that this petticoat comes from is still yet to be determined, although preliminary research is placing its origin somewhere in the northwest corner of Connecticut, around New Hartford, Simsbury, or possibly Granby.
