DescriptionArchitectural plans for a two and a half story Colonial Revival brick house with side-gambrel roof and multiple frame wings with side-gabled roofs on the east and west (side) elevations. The main block is flanked by gable wall chimneys. Portions of the wings are sheathed in wood shingles while others are faced with brick or stucco. The home has three hipped dormers on both the front and rear elevations. These consist of a centered dormer with single double-hung multi-pane sash flanked by two dormers, each with paired, double-hung multi-pane sash. Fenestration primarily consists of 6/6 double-hung sash, however other arrangements of double-hung and casement windows are present throughout. The fenestration on the first story of the main block has brick sills and splayed windows. Those above are limited to the brick sills only. There is a one-story recessed porch with square supports at the northwest corner of the home and two-story recessed porches with Doric supports at the southeast and southwest corners. The squared portico has a wide entablature with modillions, Doric supports, and iron rail balustrade above. On the second level above the entry there are a pair of French doors flanked by multi-pane sidelights. The former open up onto a small porch.
Eight drawings are included in the set; north, south, and combined east and west elevations; foundation, first-, second-, and third-floor plans; as well as plans and elevations for a one and a half story, two-bay, frame garage. Foundation plans include coal, boiler, laundry, and store rooms, unexcavated areas, as well as foundation section drawings. The first-floor plan indicates the entry hall and vestibule, play room, music room, living and dining rooms, two pantries, kitchen, lavoratory, closets, servants' hall, servants' porch, sun room, and two rear verandas with flagstone floors. The second-floor plan has four chambers, three bathrooms, a sewing room, three servants' chambers, one servants' bathroom, various closets, and two rear porches. The thrid-floor plan includes three chambers, a hanging closet, bathroom, and two unfinished storage areas.
The garage plans illustrate a one and a half story, two-bay, frame garage with side-gabled roof. There are projecting one-story wings with pitched roofs on the side elevations. The building is sheathed with wood shingles. Fenestration consists of multi-pane casement windows. Each bay has a pair of wood-panel doors with multi-pane windows in their upper halves. There is a full-width pent roof over the doors.
