DescriptionAn automobile is on a snow-covered street. A woman stands on the street corner, and two men or boys are on the porch of a building at the intersection which may be either a house or a small store. Other houses or stores are at left and right. Piles of snow, leafless trees, and a fence line the street. Snow-covered hills are in the background.
NotesHistorical Note: The donor's paternal grandparents emigrated from the Ukraine at the turn of the 20th century. They sold fruit from a pushcart, and then opened a store, Mary Cohen's Market, at the corner of Whalley Avenue and Dayton Street, New Haven, Connecticut in 1902. The store was sold around 1968, becoming M&T Market. (Lee 6/14/2010)
