DescriptionThree-quarter-length portrait of a young girl. She wears a dress with a wide neckline and cuffs trimmed with lace. There is a ribbon in her hair. She is seated and holds a long-haired dog, probably a King Charles spaniel, in her lap. A dressed stone wall with a decorative stone urn on a pedestal is in the left background. Trees, including a tall pine tree, are beyond.

Label Text"Little Mary" and "Little William" were probably issued at the same time and could be purchased as a pair and hung together as this print and its companion print, "Little William," evidently were. "Little Mary" was quite a popular print. At least four different versions are known, indicating that it was reprinted at least three times over the course of twenty years.
