DescriptionAn airplane is landing or taking off on a snow-covered field. Footprints are in the snow in the foreground. Buildings are in the background.
NotesSubject Note: The Lockheed Ventura PV-1 was a version of the Lockheed Ventura developed for use by the United States Navy during World War II. It had a larger fuel capacity than earlier versions and incorporated radar. The aircraft shown in this print is probably part of the first combat squadron to use the PV-1 in the Aleutian Islands beginning in April 1943. (Finlay 4/1/2010)
