DescriptionThree airplanes, the foremost with United States insignia, fly in formation over a barren mountain range. A river flows between the mountains. Clouds are in the sky.
NotesSubject Note: The Curtiss Commando C-46, a heavy duty transport, was derived from a civiian airliner and introduced for military service in 1941. It was used throughout World War II. Following the war, some C-46 aircraft were again used for passenger service, but the primary use of the C-46 was as a cargo plane, a role that it continued to fulfill for the United States military into the 21st century.
