DescriptionFormal and informal portraits of members of the Capobianco family in Italy and Hartford. Some men wear military uniforms. One man is smoking a cigarette. Many photographs include children or infants. Several photographs, apparently dating to the 1940s and 1950s, show family members in and around a tenement building, presumably in Hartford. In one photograph, women lean over a second-story porch railing with laundry hanging from a clothes line. In some photographs, men are in a convertible with the license plate 4695. In another, family members sit in folding chairs. Some photographs show a beauty and barber shop.
NotesThe Gennaro J. Capobianco Collection consists of material relating to the history of Italian-Americans in the Hartford area, and includes: documents and manuscript items; pamphlets, bound books, and other printed materials; photograph album, unmounted photographs and postcards; posters; cassette recordings; medical equipment; plaques, statue, furniture, hat; newspaper clipping and genealogical materials.
