NotesSubject Note: 2005.181.27 was taken at a testimonial dinner in honor of Martin Welles at the Hartford Golf Club on January 7, 1941. A few days later Welles announced his retirement as vice-president and secretary of the Travelers Bank & Trust Company and vice-president of the Connecticut River Banking Company. 2005.181.18 is a photograph of an oil painting made about the same time to be hung in the bank headquarters.On View
