DescriptionFull-length silhouettes of a man, a woman, and three children, all facing right. The children are wearing dresses with empire waists; they appear to be girls, but the younger children could be boys. The man is wearing a coat and trousers, and the woman is wearing a high-waisted dress.
NotesSubject Note: According to Barbour, Elisha Latimer of Hartford married Mary Ann Griswold of Wethersfield on July 19, 1825. Elisha Lattimore is listed as a joiner in the 1828 Hartford city directory. On August 11 and August 28, 1828, Elisha Latimer advertised in the Hartford Courant for a runaway apprentice, Sherman Richmond. Ancestry World Tree shows the couple with two children, Laura and Sarah Jane (1826-1908), so the third child that appears in the silhouette may have died young. Mary Ann Latimer appears head of household in the 1840 Federal Census, living in Wethersfield. Presumably Elisah Latimer was deceased before that date. (Finlay 1/12/2010)
