NotesSubject Note: Daniel Wadsworth was born 8 August 1771 in Middletown to Colonel Jeremiah and Mehitable (Russell) Wadsworth. He married Faith Trumbull, daughter of Jonathan and Eunice (Backus) Trumbull on 26 June 1794 . Faith died on 19 October 1846 at age 77, Daniel died on 28 July 1848 at age 77. Wadsworth was educated in England and France and painted numerous watercolor sketches of scenery during his travels. He acquired a large fortune working for his father and later founded the Wadsworth Atheneum on land that was in his family for more than a century. Wadsworth also played a part in the founding of a Deaf and Dumb Asylum and the Retreat for the Insane.Status
