DescriptionViews and group portraits of members of the Civilian Conservation Corps at Camp Britton in Windsor. Some photographs were taken in Avon, Simsbury, and Windsor Locks. Scenes in camp include the interior and exterior of the dining hall and bunkhouse, men washing clothes outdoors, and men standing in front of a flag pole. Some photographs include a sign that reads "Civilian Conservation Corps / Camp Britton." Some trucks have signs that read "C.C.C." One man appears to be African-American. A group of photographs depict C.C.C. activities in Hartford during the Flood of 1936. Photographs of a steam shovel, dated 1940, and of a man, woman, and child outside a cottage probably do not relate to the Civilian Conservation Corps.

NotesSubject Note: Camp Britton, a Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Windsor, opened on 12 September 1935 and closed 2 on May 1937.
