DescriptionAlbum includes photographs taken during August 1913 during a visit from Germany. Most photographs are of scenes in Hartford and New Britain, including the Connecticut State Capitol, the State Library, the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, Bushnell Park, Elizabeth Park, Goodwin Park, and harness racing at Charter Oak Park. Several photographs are of people and houses on Park Street, where relatives evidently lived. Several photographs are of a suffrage parage with several suffragist women marching passing businesses on Ford Street. Some photographs appear to be of cottages and activities at the Connecticut shore. Other photographs are of Chicago, other locations in Illinois, Lake Michigan, and Niagara Falls. Two photographs show people on board the "George Washington" in October 1912.
NotesAccording to the donor, Henry and Richard Hahn spent their vacation in the United States, including Connecticut, in the early 1910s. They later emigrated and settled in Connecticut. (Finlay 12/22/2009)
