DescriptionPhotograph album contains views of South Britain and Southbury, Connecticut. There are also views of Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence River and Niagara Falls.

The Views of South Britain and Southbury include pastoral scenes of cows, pigs, sheep, and horses grazing in meadows. One view is of a girl sitting in a horse drawn carriage while the horse drinks from a pond. There are two views of a man sitting on a horse and one of a women standing under a tree with a horse. Included in the views are an older man and a horse at water well. Another scene is of two people on a small lake in a rowboat.

There are several views of area farms and a scene of a boy standing on the High Bridge over Pomeraug River. Another view is of three young children and a women standing in a doorway watching a group of piglets. One view of a farm is of a water mill.

The album also includes scenes from the interior of an older kitchen and attic. The photograph of the kitchen is titled "Uncle Jay's Old Kitchen (?)" Inside the kitchen are farm tools, a spinning wheel, a rifle hanging over the fireplace, a violin on the wall, an ax, cooking pots, and a board game on the table in front of the fireplace. The scene of the attic includes a military uniform and sword hanging in the rafters, a spinning wheel, a tilt-top table, bed warmers, chests, bellows, an old basket, and a center chimney. A second photograph of the kitchen also includes a horse saddle, a butter churn, saws, foot warmers, and a variety of baskets.

Other scenes include rats, rat traps and dogs.

1981.6.4.9 is a photograph of a young child standing on the High Bridge over the Pomeraug River. He is wearing overalls, a hat, and has bare feet.
