DescriptionSubjects include a birdseye view of Gale's Ferry and the Thames River, Lake Quassapaug in Middlebury, Highland Lake in Winsted, Tyler Lake in West Goshen, Camp Wopowog in East Hampton, Colonial Springs at East Rock Park and the Falls at West Rock Park in New Haven, Blackberry Valley in Canaan, Thomaston, the Greenwich Reservoir and Red Fox pups from the Audubon Nature Center in Greenwich, and catching shad on the Connecticut River in Middletown.
NotesSubject Note: 2009.27.218 is a postcard of fisherman landing a catch of Connecticut River Shad on the shoreline of the Connecticut River. The card is titled "LANDING A CATCH OF CONN. RIVER SHAD AT MIDDLETOWN, CONN." The correspondence on the back reads: Wishing you a Merry/ Christmas. The signer's name is illegible. The postcard was mailed from the Portland, Connecticut post office on 23 December 1908.
