Label TextThis sign shape, with the free-hanging oval board in the rectangular frame, first appeared in the early 19th century. This example is packed with Masonic motifs: not only the common square and compass (symbolizing reason and faith), but also the pillars of King Solomon’s Temple, the arch of heaven, the all-seeing eye of the Supreme Being, the anchor of hope, crossed keys of secrecy, radiant sun, crescent moon, seven stars, gavel, altar, and Bible.
