DescriptionViews of floodwaters in downtown Hartford include scenes on Grove Street, Prospect Street, Trumbull Street, Front Street, and in Bushnell Park. Businesses include the Southern New England Telephone Company, Travelers Insurance Company, Weeks Corner Cigar Store, the Bond Hotel, the Garde Hotel, the Hartford Club, the Capitol National Bank Building, Case, Lockwood, and Brainard, and Buck's. Soldiers and Sailor Arch and the Tercentenary Building are visible in Bushnell Park. Some photographs include leafless trees, rowboats, trucks, traffic signals, street lights, men wearing overcoats or raincoats. One photograph shows Connecticut National Guard troops on Morgan Street "ready for flood duty."
