DescriptionTwo small girls wearing white dresses are seated on the grass at the edge of what appears to be a garden. Both girls have ribbon bows in their hair. A tablecloth with a crocheted border is spread on the ground in front of them and toy dishes are arranged for tea. A large basket is at the left. Rocks, plants, and flowers are in the garden at the right. Trees, bushes, and a grassy lawn are in the background.

NotesSubject Note: Edna and Georgianna Dorey were the daughters of Halstead Dorey and his wife, the former Theodora Cheney. The couple and their children frequently visited Mrs. Dorey's family in Manchester, Connecticut. The children's father, Colonel Halstead Dorey, was wounded in action in 1918, the year this photograph was taken. (Finlay 2/19/2014)
