DescriptionWoman's day dress made of a multicolored floral print on a damask-woven fabric resembling moire. The floral pattern uses various shades of red, pink, purple, and green. A seven-inch-wide, horizontally gathered panel of self-fabric encircles the waist of the dress, beginning four inches below the lower center of the armscye. A full skirt is gathered into this waist treatment. The short (10 1/2 inches long) puffed sleeves have 1 1/2-inch cuffs, secured with 3/8-inch self-covered buttons on the outer side of each cuff and small metal snaps on each cuff placket edge. The sleeves are gathered at the top of the shoulder and at the sleeve cuffs, and are lined with a pale pink, plain-woven silk/synthetic blend. This lining is shorter than the sleeve fabric, encouraging a puffed appearance. Additionally, there are self-covered shoulder pads and a pleated row of a fine woven synthetic tulle at the shoulderline to support the puffed appearance. Five 3/8-inch self-covered buttons are at the center back opening of the dress, beginning 3/4 inch from the edge of the rounded neckline. The last button is ten inches from the neckline. There is a 10 1/2-inch zipper at the waist treatment. The interior of the waist treatment is lined with the pink plain-woven silk/synthetic. Additional snaps are placed at the top of the zipper and top of the center back neckline.
