DescriptionWhite signal flag with a red cross in the center. The flag consists of four sections of white fabric and three sections of doubled red stripe. The cross runs from the hoist end to the fly end of the flag and from the top to the bottom. The piece of the cross that runs from the top of the flag to the bottom of the flag is one piece. The horizontal section of the cross is broken into two pieces and sewn to the vertical section of the cross. The width of the vertical section of the cross is 7 3/4". The widths of the horizontal sections of the cross are 9" on the section closest to the hoist end and 8" on the section nearest the fly end of the flag. The hoist end of the flag contains four string ties that are spread out in equal distance. The sections of white along the top and bottom of the flag are selvages. The edge of the red stripe at the bottom of the flag is a fold while the section of red on the top edge of the flag is where the two ends have been stitched back together. The white sections on the hoist end of the flag are hemmed to the reverse side while the red section is where the two ends have been stitched back together. The fly end of the flag is hemmed to the reverse side on the white section, however it is unknown as to what the red section would have been as it is no longer present at the fly end.
