DescriptionSmall boy's white, plain-woven cotton shirt. Narrow band collar; triangular inserts at neckline for shaping, and gathered at center back at the neck. The shirt is cut with an extension that folds up at the underarm, creating a gusset effect on the proper right sleeve; the other sleeve is pieced under the arm to create a gusset. The sleeve is cut in two parts: the top section is gathered into the lower section, which is straight. The sides of the shirt are open for 7 3/4 inches up from the hem; the side seam is then stitched with a reinforcing patch. The collar is worked with two opposing holes at the opening; it would have closed with a stud.
