DescriptionThe album consists of photographs of the Heinze family and family acquaintances. Most photographs are of unidentified men and women. Some photographs show Meta Heinze posing with her sisters, sitting with a dog, and dressed in a sailor's outfit. Several formal studio portraits show men with bicycles in front of painted backdrops. Some photographs are wedding photographs of family members and friends. Some sitters wear uniforms, suits, hats, and dresses with lace collars or pearl necklaces. Others show men and women sitting or standing. Some men hold walking sticks or canes. Many men have moustaches. Some women appear to be in mourning.
NotesSubject note: This album consists of photographs of Meta Heinze before she was married to Alexander Tatro. Meta was born in Sweden and moved to the United States in 1880. She came with her sister and they worked as maids for wealthy families around Hartford such as the Ponds. The Ponds House in Elizabeth Park is named after them. She married Alexander in 1900 and her daughter Amy was born in 1906. (1910 Federal Census, Hartford Courant: Sept. 12, 2004)
