DescriptionViews of the Old State House, a brick and brownstone building with a cupola with a clock, dome, and a statue of an allegorical figure of Justice on top include grassy lawns, trees, paved sidewalks, automobiles, a hanging sign, a statue of Thomas Hooker. One photograph includes the Isle of Safety (a bus shelter), ab electric street light, a woman wearing a mini-skirt, and other men and women.
NotesSubject Note: The Old State House was erected in 1796 to the designs of Charles Bulfinch. It served as the State Capitol until 1878 and as Hartford's city hall until 1915.
