DescriptionBrown/black changeable twill-woven silk pelisse. The pelisse is open down the entire center front; it closes with self-covered buttons and cord loops (several buttons are missing). When closed, the buttons are hidden under the opposite lapped edge. The long, straight sleeves are set into the armscye with gathers are the back of the shoulder. The waist is high, measuring 2 1/2 inches at the side, under the armscye. The collar is plain, measuring 3 inches wide at the front edge. While the bodice front is stitched with only a few small gathers into the smooth front waistline, the back of the bodice is gathered across the shoulderline and the back waistline is gathered on a ribbon drawstring. The bodice is lined with tan plain-woven cotton. The skirt is lined with dark brown plain-woven cotton. The wadding is undyed wool.
