DescriptionPosed portraits of businessmen and businesswomen; one candid amateur snapshot of a cocktail party.
2007.24.273 shows men of the G. Fox & Co. board seated and standing around a seated woman, Beatrice Fox Auerbach, who is holding a gun and what appears to be a club. Her sons-in-law, Bernard Schiro and Richard Koopman, are seated to either side of her. The table in front of the group is decorated with a green tablecloth and cardboard figures holding illustrations of luggage with the initials "B.F.A." on one side.
2007.24.274 shows a woman, Beatrice Fox Auerbach, in the center of the frame holding out a drink to a man at the right of the photograph. Behind the woman is a man, Richard Koopman, and other men and women are seen talking in the background.
2007.24.275 shows a posed portrait of a man, Richard Koopman, seated at his desk with his hand on a pad of paper. In the background is a trophy and a pile of papers.
2007.24.276 shows a posed group shot of men and women seated and standing. Beatrice Fox Auerbach is in the front row in the center of the photograph. Many of the women are wearing hats and the men are all in suits. The label on the envelope for the photograph was labeled, "Photo of Atkins Office Group"
2007.24.277-2007.24.278 show posed group shots of men and women seated around a table, the president and division heads of G. Fox & Co. in Hartford. In one view (.277) the businessmen and business women are facing the camera and in the other (.278) they are looking down examining the large paper that is laid out on the table. In the background on the wall is a large portrait of a man, Moses Fox. Standing from left to right are: Beatrice Fox Auerbach, president; Harold Samuel, women's clothing; Marshall Kashman, main floor accessories; Maurice (Moe) Berins, personnel; Sol Katzen, comptroller; Arthur Truitt, advertising and public relations; Richard Koopman, maintenance and engineering; Llewelyn Stearns, men's clothing; and Victor Dowling, home furnishings. Seated from left to right are Samuel (Sam) Einstein, general merchandise manager; Samuel Polman, basement; Bernard Schiro, children's; Amy Fagan, party fashion coordinator; and George Kyte, general superintendent.
2007.24.279 shows a posed shot of men seated around a long table. Portraits of two men are seen on the wall behind them and an ornate chandelier is above them. On the table by each man is a folder. Down the center of the table are bowls that seem to be ashtrays and boxes of matches. The men from left to right are identified on a separate piece of paper included with the photograph as: Bruce Matthews, Charles E. Brainard, Sr., Ernest C. Arbuckle, William B. Johnson, Frederick P. Perkins, William R. Robbins, Barclay Robinson, John A. Hill, Olcott D. Smith, Howard A. Moreen, Ostrom Enders, Stanley M. Cooper, Guy E. Mann, John M. Meyer, Jr., John P.
