DescriptionMan's handkerchief made of machine-stitched off-white linen and cotton. The handkerchief is undecorated; it has a narrow hem around all four sides. A white paper tag is attached to one corner of the handkerchief with a metal clip. The tag is printed, "G. FOX & CO./ EST. 1847 HARTFORD/ J4/2 9128/ B32 2A HA1/ 65¢". On the opposite side of the handkerchief, in a different corner, a white oval-shaped, paper sticker is affixed. Printed in black, it reads, "LINEN & COTTON".

NotesOwner Note: According to the seller, this handkerchief was one of a set of six purchased by his mother, Mrs. Martha Candels, of Avon, Connecticut. She used to take the bus into Hartford every other weekend to shop at G. Fox and Co. (Hudson 8/8/2007)
