The central, circular design on the plate is titled, "State Capitol/ Hartford/ Connecticut". It shows a large, Gothic-inspired building with an irregular roofline and circular domed tower. This central pattern is surrounded by a border at the rim that contains six titled designs. The first shows a long, low building with a large square tower, titled, "TRINITY COLLEGE CHAPEL HARTFORD". The next is a large, multi-story rectangular building with a tower projecting from a taller portion of the structure, titled, "TRAVELER'S/ HARTFORD". The next shows a two-story building with a projecting portico and a spire above, titled, "OLD CHURCH GUILFORD". Next is an image of a Federal-style building with arched first floor windows and doors and a cupula above, titled, "OLD STATE HOUSE HARTFORD". The next design is of a five-story building with a tower, titled, "AETNA LIFE HARTFORD". Finally, the last image shows a three-story building with a projecting porch and a tower above, titled, "U.
