DescriptionTen karat gold pin with green and white enamel, in the original box. On the front of the pin, gold lettering on an upward curving arch of green enamel reads "G FOX & CO." Below that, a downward curving arch of green enamel reads, "25 YEARS". Between the two sections of green enamel, a Gothic letter "A" is supported by a lion on each side. Below the lions, a scroll with white enamel reads, "MOSES FOX CLUB". The pin is hinged on the back with a pin on one side that closes into a clasp on the other side. The back of the pin is stamped, "M.H.B." on top, and "1930" on the bottom.
The box is a single piece covered in tan velvet, with gold paper trim around the edge of the top. The box hinges at the back. The interior is lined with cream colored silk. The silk lining on the top of the interior is printed in dark brown letters. They read, "G. FOX & CO./ ESTABLISHED 1847 HARTFORD".

NotesOwner Note: Maurice H. Berins (1908-1990) worked for G. Fox and Company in Hartford, Connecticut, for over 25 years, beginning in 1930 (the date inscribed on the back of the pin). He became a Senior Vice President. He was also the Director/President of Mount Sinai Hospital. Maurice H. Berins was an organizer of the 1971 and 1972 Hartford Arts Festivals.
