DescriptionRectangular pasteboard box lid covered with a tan paper with a printed vine and leaf-style geometric pattern. A blue paper label printed in black ink pasted on the top of the lid has an image of an eagle with its wings outstretched. It holds arrows in the talons of one foot and an olive branch in the other. In it's beak it holds the end of a banner reading, "E PLURIBUS UNUM". There are American flags on poles at an angle in the background. The label also reads, "BEST AMERICAN THREAD. / THOMPSON & Co. / WARRANTED. / UNIONVILLE, CONN."
Along one long edge and at the corners a heavy thread has been used to sew the box together, possibly as a repair.
