The girl is showing a doll to the woman while one of the boys plays on a rocking horse. The other boy is seated on the floor looking at a book. A doll in a small cradle is also on the floor. A Christmas tree is on a table to the left, decorated with ornaments and candles. There are some toys under the tree, and also some wrapped presents. In the background is a fireplace with a fire. There is a mantelpiece with a clock and two oil lamps. There is a mirror above the mantle, and a framed portrait hanging on the wall.
