DescriptionDrawing of the fire in 1917 that destroyed the G. Fox & Co. building on Main Street, Hartford. A row of multistory buildings are engulfed in flame at night. A sign, "G. FOX & CO." is visible on one of the buildings. Several firefighters are in the street with a fire engine, using hoses to spray water onto the flames.

There is a square-shaped space with adhesive residue at the lower right for a clipping that announces that the store will reopen when they find suitable temporary space. The clipping appears to be a copy of an announcement from the Hartford Daily Times, Tuesday, January 30, 1917, and is detached, but with the drawing.
