DescriptionMan's silk tie, printed with a repeating geometric design in ecru, black and green on a crimson background. The front tip ends in a broad point; the back tip is narrower. The tie is lined with white silk. There are two labels on the back of the tie. The first is stitched to the back of the front tip and doubles as a tie guard. Brown thread is woven on an ecru label and reads: "SOIE/ ORIGINAL/ LILLY DACHÉ/ PARIS - NEW YORK"; the second label stitched to the back of the narrow tip is of silver thread woven on black : "The WARNER/ & BAILEY CO./ HARTFORD, CONN." with a rampant lion on red shield. The fabric includes the woven signature of the designer/manufacturer: "Executive/ by Lilly Daché"

NotesMaker Note: Lilly Daché (1898-1989) was a French milliner and fashion designer who immigrated to the United States in 1924. She became known for her draped turbans, half hats and visored caps for war workers, snoods and massed-flower hats. By 1949 she was designing dresses to go with her hats, as well as lingerie, loungewear, gloves, hosiery and a wired strapless bra.On View
