DescriptionThis black felt derby has a rolled brim, that is slightly raised on the left and right sides (approximately 1/2 inch). A 1 1/2-inch grosgrain ribbon serves as a band at the base of the crown. It is stiched into a 3 1/4-inch bow at the right side, appoximately 2 1/2 inches from the center front. The interior of the hat has a sweatband of brown leather at the base of the crown. The interior of the hat is lined with an off-white silk basket-woven fabric. The maker information is printed at the center of the lining.
NotesHistorical Note: According to donor, this was the first derby hat owned by her father, Lawrence Eddy (1892-1980).
