DescriptionLight brown leather child's closed-tab boots. The boots close with a plaited cotton shoelace tipped in metal, worked through six pairs of metal eyelets up the center front. The lacing is backed by a leather tongue lined with cotton fleece. The toes are broadly rounded and there is no heel. Around the inside top edge of the boot is a flap of leather, which covers the openings of slots stitched into the leather lining. Strips of baleen are inserted into these slots to stiffen the ankle. The soles have only slight differentiation for the right and left foot.
