The shoes are seamed at the sides only; these side seams come up from the middle of the shoe and slant forward slightly, ending between the second and third eyelet. The eyelets are laced with a brown plaited cotton shoelace, with metal tips. The throatline and slit are bound with black/brown cotton tape. The toes are round and there is no heel. The uppers are lined with white twill-woven cotton; the sock lining is white plain-woven cotton. The soles are straight.
