DescriptionGold pin in a hexagonal shape with applied enameled disk affixed to center of pin. Incised lines radiate out from under center medallion. The words "FAITH AND HUMANITY" are printed in gold letters on navy blue enamel with a gold Torah and gold lettering forming the monogram "NCJW" of the National Congress of Jewish Women and the date "1893" is set in white enamel with an oil lamp. Marked on verso: "PON 14K" and engraved on verso: "5-2-66 / BEATRICE FOX AUERBACH / SERVICE BUREAU / FOR WOMENS / ORGANIZATIONS / FROM / HTFD. SEC. N.C.J.W."

NotesHistorical Note: "NCJW" stands for National Congress of Jewish Women, founded about 1943. The Women's division of the American Jewish Congress was formed in 1943. In 1945 Beatrice Fox Auerbach founded the Service Bureau for Women's Organizations, an agency that brought high quality speakers and programs to women's clubs. (Blakelock, 11/04/2008)
