DescriptionHalf-length studio portrait of a bearded man. He is wearing a wool jacket and vest over a white shirt. A watch chain is attached to his buttonhole.
NotesBiographical Note: Albert Walker was the son of Nathaniel and Polly Walker. The 1850 census lists him as a living at home with parents, father a farmer. 1860 census lists him as a "spoon maker", still living at home. 1880 census lists him as farmer in Glastonbury. This information accords with records in Walker's mss. diary, which indicate that he farmed (and did various other jobs, including rolling cigars and repairing clocks, in addition to his ventroliquism / magic act.
