NotesSubject Note: Royal Ralph Hinman (1785-1868) graduated from Yale in 1804. He studied law at New Milford and Litchfield, and practiced in Litchfield and Roxbury for twenty years. He held numerous elected and appointed offices, including judge and Representative in the General Assembly. He became Connecticut Secretary of State in 1835.
