DescriptionTwo-piece dress: Bolero-type jacket (.a) with bell sleeves and a pleated skirt (.b) of plaid twill-woven wool in green, blue, and pink. The jacket and skirt are both trimmed with black soutache stitched in a looping, meandering design. The jacket closes at the neck with a 2 1/2-inch loop of thin black braid looped around a gutta percha button with an eight-pointed star design. A matching button is stitched to the opposite side. The round neck is bound with self-fabric. The skirt is pleated onto the waistband, which is stitched with buttonholes for attaching to the child's shirt (no longer extant). The jacket and the skirt are both unlined.
